



DEVELOPMENT PLANNING UNIT
Overview
The Development Planning Unit is responsible for planning and managing all development projects across the Line and Phoenix Islands. It coordinates and oversees projects form inception to completion, undertaking monitoring and evaluations ensuring they all align with the ministry's broader goals of sustainable development and infrastructure improvements. The unit plays a central role in transformation the islands into thriving self-sufficient communities.

Key Roles / Responsibilities
Staff within this unit have their own respective roles, but overall, they share and work together toward a shared goal. In summary, the key functions and responsibilities categorized into the following:
- Strategic planning & policy Development: Formulate development strategies and action plans aligned with national and local priorities.
- Monitoring and evaluation: Design and implement frameworks to track project performance and impact. Also, to coordinate timely reporting reporting for stakeholders and continuous learning cycles.
- Project and Project-Design: Support budgeting, feasibility assessments and integration of risk-informed approaches. Align project design with sustainability and inclusive goals.
- Sustainability and Innovation Promotion: Support innovation hubs and incubators for community-based economic development.
