📊 Overview

The Planning & Development Unit is responsible for coordinating the Ministry's strategic planning, policy development, project implementation, and monitoring activities. The Unit ensures that programmes and projects align with national development priorities and contribute to the sustainable development of the Line and Phoenix Islands.

By working closely with government agencies, development partners, local communities, and other stakeholders, the Unit supports evidence-based planning, efficient resource management, and continuous improvement in service delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the Ministry's strategic and operational plans.
  • Coordinate development projects and programmes.
  • Monitor and evaluate project implementation and outcomes.
  • Prepare policy papers, reports, and development proposals.
  • Coordinate donor-funded and development partner initiatives.
  • Collect, analyse, and manage development data.
  • Support budgeting and annual work planning.
  • Promote sustainable and inclusive development across the Line and Phoenix Islands.
